The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Energy Investment Activity Project and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) have the pleasure of hosting the Second Energy Summit that will be held on April 21 and 22, 2016, at the Grand Hotel Neum, in Neum.
The Second Energy Summit will be organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Tradeand Economic Relations of BiH (MOFTER), State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC), Regulatory Commission for Energy in the Federation BiH (FERC) and Regulatory Commission for Energy of Republika Srpska (RSERC).
With this Second Summit we expect to continue the successful discussion that the sector all together commenced last year with more than 230 attendees. We are looking forward to an open discussion on key issues related to energy sector reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year we also plan to gather a number of partners from the State and Entity Ministries, Parliaments, Municipalities, State and Entity Energy Regulatory Commissions, Power Utilities, Chambers of Commerce, SMEs involved in the sector, investors, traders, customer associations, faculties, NGOs, Energy Community representatives, regional energy regulatory commissions and other international organizations and donors involved in the energy sector.
The discussion at the Energy Summit will be focused on a number of high level issues, such as an outlook at the future energy path for BiH, challenges of implementing the energy efficiency and renewable energy sources strategic framework, as well as more focused and technical discussions on the Investment regime in the Energy sector, Electricity Retail market in BiH, and Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency topics. The Summit will be organized into a number of plenary sessions and more technical workshops.
